As an active business in Cobb County, Forged Performance is always looking for ways to give back to our local community. This past Saturday was one of those very opportunities. As you may or may not know, Forged Performance’s facility is adjacent to Southern Poly Technical University which is home to one of the leading engineering programs in the region. This year, we sponsored the SPSU Charity Dyno which is lead by SPSU Motorsports to raise money for their formula SAE team to compete in the 2013 season. Being the engineering types that we are, we swung by with a couple of GT-R’s and some prizes to help show our support. There were a wide assortment of vehicles spinning the rollers, present company excluded since their dyno is limited to 300hp.
Later in the day, we moved over to a sizable parking lot where the Formula SAE cars made demonstration runs. The all electric car especially caught our eye and put down some impressive laps.
We know the SPSU team had fun, and the event was well planned and orchestrated. Everyone in attendance looked like they were having a great time.
On Sunday the Forged crew got up and out early to attend the first Caffeine and Octane of 2013. We arrived at 8 am to find the parking lot already overflowing.
The cold weather didn’t diminish any of the enthusiasm of the crowd. We enjoyed the brisk morning by walking around and checking some exceptionally clean cars. We all know it’s never much fun washing a car in 29 degree weather but judging by all the shiny paint, none of the owners seem to mind! Enjoy our photos, and see you all next month.
